VISION STATEMENT OF THE ANNAPOLIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
a leading artistic treasure in Maryland and a national model for regional orchestras.
The Vision Statement of a nonprofit organization establishes a common basis that unites the beliefs and activities of all involved. The components of an effective Vision Statement include: core values, core purpose, and long-term goals.
The core values represent the essential tenets that guide the activities and decisions of the organization and rarely, if ever, change. The core values of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra are:
Artistry -- We produce music of the highest quality.
Engagement -- We promote an environment of enrichment, fellowship, and respect.
Continuity -- We honor our heritage and cultivate a legacy for the future.
Innovation -- We advance with creativity, freshness, and new ideas.
The core purpose of a nonprofit organization is its mission statement, a statement that states why the organization exists and what it does. The core purpose (mission statement) of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is:
To produce, present and promote memorable symphonic music that increases awareness, enjoyment, and appreciation of music for all ages throughout the region.
An organization sets forth a vision for its future by establishing long-term goals, in order to drive its behavior and activities in the present toward a future state. A set of goals should be articulated for 10 to 20 years in the future.
2. Grow and achieve financial viability, capability, and stability.
