The performances, community outreach and educational programs offered by the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) are made possible, in part, through the substantial financial support of individuals and corporate business partners the ASO refers to as “Major Donors.”  On Wednesday, April 25, 2012 the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra hosted its annual appreciation reception to recognize and thank those donors.

This year’s Major Donor event was hosted at a very exclusive and unique location - the Stonewater Estate in Annapolis.  The stunning, 13,000 square foot English Tudor home is currently available for sale. Its owner, Mary Roggio, and Amber Krause of Brandywine Fine Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, graciously offered use of the magnificent home for this special occasion.  The waterfront home and its 7+ acres overlooking Crab Creek and the South River provided the perfect backdrop for the ASO to thank those who have so generously supported its endeavors over the past year.

The 125 guests enjoyed an unveiling of the 2012-2013 season by ASO Music Director, José-Luis Novo, followed by a special performance by principal clarinetist, Marlena Dillenbeck.  A magnificent gourmet meal, accompanied by a specialty drink “The Allegro” was provided compliments of Palate Pleasers of Annapolis.  In addition, guests were provided with a tour of the Stonewater Estate.

“Our supporters have made so much possible for the ASO through the years and especially this anniversary season.  We are honored to be able to recognize them with this special event and to share our exciting plans for next season.” commented Katharene Poston Snavely, Executive Director.

Complete details of the2012-2013 season will be available at www.annapolissymphony.org after May 9, 2012.

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra features 70 professional musicians who perform a variety of symphonic music for audiences of all ages.  Additionally, the non-profit organization provides educational programs through its partnerships with local schools, as well as various other community outreach efforts.  The ASO’s vision is to be the best regional orchestra in the country, recognized as a jewel in the Washington/Baltimore area.
