February 6, 2010 Family Concert Cancellation Letter

Dear Patron,

We at the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra share your disappointment about the cancellation of our Family Concerts scheduled for Saturday, February 6^th.We had strong sales and great anticipation for our presentation of Peter and the Wolf and Green Eggs and Ham. Unfortunately, the snowstorm that paralyzed much of Maryland provided conditions in which travel was dangerous if even possible, and we could not safely present the concerts under such circumstances. The ASO does wish to gratefully acknowledge the support of our sponsors, M&T Bank and Target, and all of the advertisers in the enclosed program book.

The ASO has received many inquiries about rescheduling this concert for a later date. Unfortunately this is not a possibility due to scheduling conflicts, but we are glad to present another Family Concert program this October. Therefore, we would like to offer ticketholders the following options regarding tickets:

Option 1

Exchange your tickets (by mail or in person) for our next Family Concerts scheduled for October 23, 2010. Programming to be announced by April 30, 2010.

Option 2

Exchange your tickets (by mail or in person) for any of our remaining Classic Concerts this season. You have the benefit of exchanging for the same number of tickets regardless of the higher Classic price.

March 26 & 27: Spring Awakenings featuring violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen
May 7 & 8: High Blood Pleasure featuring pianist Jeffrey Chappell

Option 3

Donate your tickets (by mail or in person) and receive a tax receipt for the full ticket price.

Option 4

Our normal ticket policy is “no refunds,” however we have not had to cancel a performance in recent history. We encourage patrons to choose one of the previous three options which support the orchestra and helps ensure we’re able to deliver more great performances in the future. However, we will gladly refund the ticket price in this instance with your returned tickets.

Please exchange, donate, or refund your tickets by May 7, 2010. Requests must be made by mail or in person for those with tickets in their possession. If your tickets were being held in will-call, please call the box office at 410-263-0907 to inform us of your decision. When exchanging tickets, your new seats will be based on availability at the time of exchange.
